We will provide you with an actuarial valuation certificate or a detailed actuarial valuation report in support of a claim by a party in respect of the following:

  • Loss of income support to a dependant in the instance of death of a breadwinner;
  • Loss of income by a party as a result incapacitation as a result of an accident.
  • Loss of income or capital as a result of medical malpractice

 

Actuarial Valuation Certificate

We issue this report only in the instance of loss of income support on death of a breadwinner.

This is a one page report that sets out the calculated capital value of the loss of income support at the date of calculation.

The report summarises all the information supplied, the basis of the calculation and the results of the calculation.

 

Actuarial Valuation Report

This is a detailed report that

examines the data and information available for the calculation;

  • examines the medico-legal documents supporting the claim, and quantifies the morbidity, mortality, financial and other contingencies and incorporates into the valuation model;
  • details the actuarial valuation methodology used to arrive at the capital value of the income loss;
  • sets out the results of the actuarial valuation as required;
  • discusses the sensitivity of the capital values to variations in the key factors and assumptions that have an impact on the capital values;
  • summarises all information supplied, the basis of the calculations and the results of the calculations.

Court appearance as an expert witness

We will also appear in Court as an expert witness when requested to do so. The applicable hourly rate applies.

 

Service levels

We produce the standard actuarial valuation certificate within two working days of our confirmation of receipt of ALL the information required to produce the certificate. We produce the actuarial valuation report within ten working days of our confirmation of receipt of ALL the information required to produce the report. We keep you up to date on any outstanding information holding back the production of the certificate or report.

Our fees

Our fees are based on an hourly scale that reflects the nature of and demands on the actuarial resources we employ in the valuation process.

We charge for time in Court as an expert witness in accordance with our hourly scale applicable at the time.
